Munich (dpa / lby) – Bavaria is extending a support program with the aim that people in need of care can stay in their usual social environment for as long as possible. This was announced by Health Minister Klaus Holetschek (CSU) in Munich. The state government has approved around 200 million euros for the program called “PflegesoNah” since 2020.
“Our goal is to use the funding to further expand and improve the nursing care structure in Bavaria: needs-based and nationwide, regionally oriented, dementia-sensitive and barrier-free,” said Holetschek.
In rural areas in particular, it is difficult to ensure care and provision close to home. Therefore, the focus of funding will continue to be on smaller nursing offers such as outpatient assisted living communities and short-term and day care facilities. Offers that relieve the caregiving relatives would also be promoted.
