Erfurt (dpa/th) – The number of pensioners in Thuringia increased in 2021. As the State Office for Statistics announced on Tuesday, 15,625 people were counted in January of this year who received state benefits. This increases the number compared to the previous year by 1255. According to the information, more than two thirds of the beneficiaries are retired civil servants and judges. The other part of the salary is paid out to widows and orphans in the form of a survivor’s pension. The average age of retired people in 2021 was 63 years.
