Wednesday, July 13th, as part of Forest Charter Ubaye Valley Serre–Poncon Pays de Seyne, and the national event “Live your life as a lumberjack”, a “forest” mission organized by the CCVUSP in partnership with Office National des Forets et Fibois Sud. This free outing is accompanied on a logging site by an ONF agent.
This event is open to everyone and allows anyone to pretend to be a forester for the morning. Participants will not be able to keep any of these terms secretive: hammering, bucking and felling, limbing and skidding. Guarantors of sustainable forest management, professionals will explain their job in the context of a real forestry project, within the forest of Faucon-de-Barcelonnette in Bouzouliere.
Meet at the Botanic Car Park in Barcelonnette at 8:30 AM and join a carpool.
You are invited to join us for coffee and explanations about the management of the massif. We also visit the site and observe felling and skidding. Discussions with the operator will follow.
12:00 p.m. Return back to the parking lot
To adapt to the activity, you will need to wear trousers, closed-toe shoes, and a jacket. The helmet is also provided. Children under the supervision of their parents are allowed to participate in this activity.
