The lifeless bodies of a man and a woman, from Burgos, were recovered this Wednesday in a ravine next to the Casaño River, in the council of Cabrales (Asturias), by members of the Principality’s Emergency Service (SEPA) and the GREIM of the Civil Guard.
After receiving the corresponding judicial authorization, the mortal remains of the deceased have been transferred by firefighters and GREIM personnel to the La Molina parking lot, where the funeral services and the coroner were waiting, reports 112 of Asturias.
Second, they were confirmed to be members of the Civil Guard, two of the people, who would be practicing barranquismo, came from Burgos.
The man’s body was located submerged in a stream between two stones and that of the woman, about thirty meters higher, in a waterfall.
Firefighters and members of the Rescue Group managed to move them to a safe area while waiting to receive the corresponding judicial authorization to carry out their rescue after the doctor-rescuer could only confirm their death.
The Civil Guard took charge of the procedures to proceed with the removal of the bodies.
The Emergency Coordination Center of 112 Asturias received the notification at 2:04 p.m. through a call indicating that they were seeing a person in the water, where shortly before they had heard screams in the area where they explained that canyoning was usually practiced.
