Stuttgart (dpa / lsw) – In court, a police officer described in detail the decisive seconds of a dramatic traffic check in the Black Forest, during which his colleague was attacked by a suspected “Reich citizen”. The 34-year-old was there in February when the man was initially stopped after a chase. However, the 62-year-old accelerated again and headed for the police officer who had got out. The man made no attempt to avoid hitting the police officer, the officer said on Wednesday before the Stuttgart Higher Regional Court. His colleague was seriously injured in the attack.
The 62-year-old from the Lörrach district has to answer for attempted murder. Above all, it must be clarified whether the German deliberately hit the policeman when he tried to escape. The charge is the first that the federal prosecutor’s office has brought against a “Reich citizen”. At the beginning of the process, the 62-year-old had given no information on the matter.
So-called Reich citizens and “self-administrators” deny the existence of the Federal Republic of Germany and its legal system, they deny politicians and civil servants their legitimacy and repeatedly break the law.
