Munich (dpa / lby) – A 23-year-old suffered severe burn injuries in an electrical accident at Munich Central Station. A railway employee found the man and got help, the federal police said. Surveillance cameras showed how the slightly swaying man climbed onto the roof of a parked train on Wednesday morning. Then there was a flashover on the railway overhead line. There was a loud bang and arcing. The man fell onto the platform with a burning trouser leg.

After the bang, railway workers began searching the area. Despite his serious injuries, the 23-year-old crossed a 1.80 meter high fence before he was finally found screaming.

The Swede, who does not live in Bavaria, was taken to a clinic with second-degree burns, where he underwent surgery. Danger to life cannot be ruled out, it said.
