Eberhardzell (dpa / lsw) – In a car accident in the district of Biberach, a man died after an unsuccessful overtaking maneuver. The 67-year-old man wanted to overtake a car and a truck driving in front of it, the police said on Monday. While he swerved his vehicle on federal highway 465 near Eberhardzell, the 22-year-old driving in front of him pulled his car to the left in order to overtake the truck himself. The 67-year-old left the road and drove into a ditch. The driver was trapped in his car. He had to be freed by the fire department. His 62-year-old passenger was seriously injured. Both came to a hospital. The 67-year-old died there. The 22-year-old suffered a shock. The police estimate the property damage at around 22,000 euros.
