Karlsruhe (dpa / lsw) – Florian Ballas from the second division soccer team Karlsruher SC suffered a torn muscle fiber in his thigh in the game against 1. FC Magdeburg (2: 3) and will be out for several weeks. The people of Baden announced this on Monday. “The central defender position remains our ‘plague position’,” the club said in a statement. In addition to Ballas, KSC coach Christian Eichner is currently without injured defenders Daniel O’Shaughnessy, Felix Irorere and Christoph Kobald.

After two defeats in the first two league games of the season, KSC will play in the DFB Cup on Friday (6:00 p.m.) against Oberliga side TSG Neustrelitz.
