Engen (dpa / lsw) – A cyclist was fatally injured in an accident on the Autobahn 81 near Engen (Konstanz district). According to police reports, he drove on Tuesday on the hard shoulder against the direction of travel. Then he went too far to the right and was hit by an oncoming trailer truck. The driver tried to swerve but was unable to avoid the collision. The cyclist died at the scene of the accident. The Autobahn between Engen and Geisingen (Tuttlingen district) was closed for several hours. It was initially unclear why the cyclist was driving on the motorway and why he left the hard shoulder.
