Lauterstein (dpa / lsw) – An eight-year-old child ran into a moving bus on the way home from school and was seriously injured. According to initial findings, the boy ran over a red pedestrian traffic light on Wednesday in Lauterstein (Göppingen district), the police said. He overlooked the bus coming from the left and crashed into the right side of the bus. A helicopter took the seriously injured child to a clinic. The 30-year-old bus driver suffered shock and was also taken to the hospital.
Accidents involving children on the way to school are common. Often one reason is that the children are in a hurry, the police said. What exactly caused the boy to start running is still being determined.
