Stuttgart (dpa / lsw) – Prime Minister Winfried Kretschmann (Greens) has invited to a refugee summit in the southwest for December 7th. A government spokesman said on Wednesday at the request of the German Press Agency in Stuttgart that it should primarily be about questions of accommodation and integration of the numerous refugees. In addition to the responsible ministries and the chairmen of all parliamentary groups in the state parliament, the municipal state associations and representatives from business, employment agencies and civil society are also involved.
On Monday, the state and local authorities agreed on the distribution of the costs for refugees. The state is giving 530 million euros for this year and next, and is thus passing on around 95 percent of the funds recently promised by the federal government to cities and municipalities. So far this year, almost 140,000 people have fled from the Ukraine to Baden-Württemberg. In addition, the Southwest has taken in about 22,000 asylum seekers from other countries.
