Stuttgart (dpa / lsw) – After the indictment by the Stuttgart public prosecutor’s office, the suspended Baden-Württemberg police inspector is seeking an acquittal in court, according to his lawyer. “My client will now consistently defend himself in the upcoming main hearing with regard to an acquittal,” Waiblingen lawyer Jens Rabe said on Wednesday. It is regrettable that the public prosecutor’s office brought charges at all “with this evidence situation”.
The country’s highest-ranking police officer has been charged with sexual assault. According to the investigation, the 49-year-old, who has since been suspended, is said to have sexually molested a police officer in Stuttgart almost a year ago.
