Mannheim (dpa / lsw) – In the search for a missing man, the police secured a number of animals in a Mannheim apartment. The missing 77-year-old was found there on Friday in a helpless situation. He was immediately cared for by the emergency services and later taken to a clinic, the police said on Sunday night. According to the information, there were also 70 to 80 budgerigars, small parrots and pigeons and an aquarium in the apartment. Neighbors called the police because they hadn’t seen the man in a while. City officials brought the animals to an animal shelter on Saturday.
