Stuttgart (dpa / lsw) – Baden-Württemberg is creating nine additional notary offices. Justice Minister Marion Gentges (CDU) said on Monday in Stuttgart: “We pay particular attention to the availability of notaries for citizens close to where they live – especially in rural areas.” In the future, too, they want to ensure nationwide coverage and citizen-friendly access to notarial services. A total of 14 notary positions were advertised – nine new positions and five vacancies.
There are currently 337 full-time notaries working in Baden-Württemberg. As part of the implementation of the land registry and notary public reform, around 300 state notary publics were closed on January 1, 2018. Since then, notarizations have only been carried out by freelance notaries.
