Ulm (dpa / lsw) – The three men who brutally beat down a police officer in Ulm are no strangers to the investigators. They had made several criminal appearances in the past and were known to the police, the public prosecutor’s office and the police announced on Thursday. No further details were given when asked. The suspects have not yet provided any information about the crime. The issue of motive and their interrelationships would now need to be resolved.
The trio (18, 23 and 24 years old) from the Alb-Donau district was arrested on Wednesday. An arrest warrant was issued against her for attempted murder. A 13-year-old fourth suspect is not criminally responsible and was handed over to his legal guardians.
They are said to have attacked and seriously injured a 25-year-old police officer in downtown Ulm last week. The man was out privately that evening. According to the police, the group had previously behaved suspiciously, after which the man called the police. The group then attacked him massively, although he also identified himself as a police officer. The group then fled. The 25-year-old was taken to the hospital.
