Stuttgart (dpa / lsw) – According to newspaper reports, most of the ballistic protective vests of the state police are defective. With around 17,000 so-called protective vests with the designation BA 466, there is a risk of a shot being put through the vest, reported “Stuttgarter Nachrichten” and “Stuttgarter Zeitung” online on Wednesday evening, citing an information letter from the state police headquarters. Shots from a distance, on the other hand, would have withstood the test fire.
A solution is therefore still open: the state police headquarters are working “priority and with high pressure on possible solutions and are in intensive exchange with the manufacturer,” according to the reports in the information letter.
