Sandhausen (dpa / lsw) – SV Sandhausen has extended Ahmed Kutucu’s loan from the Turkish first division club Istanbul Basaksehir FK. As the second division soccer club announced on Tuesday, the striker is already with the team in the training camp in Austria. “We never lost contact with Ahmed. We wanted to continue the loan from both sides,” said sporting director Mikayil Kabaca. He fits both personally to the team and to the philosophy of the game. Kutucu already played for the Black and Whites from January of the past season. He played in ten games and scored an important goal in the draw in Darmstadt. He then returned to fourth place in the Turkish Süper Lig.
Kutucu, who was born in Gelsenkirchen, received his first professional contract with FC Schalke 04. The 21-year-old made his Bundesliga debut on December 15, 2018 when the Royal Blues drew 1-1 at FC Augsburg. This was followed by 44 more appearances in the professional upper house for Schalke. In addition, Kutucu has played twice for the Turkish national team.
