Kehl (dpa / lsw) – The salvage of a sunken cargo ship has begun in the port of Kehl. The work should take around two weeks, as Badische Stahlwerke GmbH announced on Tuesday evening in Kehl (Ortenaukreis). The company is one of the port residents.
The 100 meter long transport ship buckled during loading in mid-January and then sank. According to the steel works, no one was injured and no substances were released that could endanger the environment.
According to the information, the damaged ship should first be sawed into several parts. According to the plans, the wreckage will then be lifted with a crane.
