Stuttgart (dpa / lsw) – VfB Stuttgart is hoping for the first win of the season in the Bundesliga in the home game against SC Freiburg (3.30 p.m. / Sky). After two draws against RB Leipzig and Werder Bremen, the Swabians face a difficult task in the state duel against the guests from Baden. Freiburg have been unbeaten in the league for six games against VfB, the last four games have been won by coach Christian Streich’s team. The Breisgau team suffered their last defeat in the league against Stuttgart on March 16, 2018.

Coach Pellegrino Matarazzo’s team from Stuttgart was almost relegated last season, but the sports club qualified for the Europa League. Left-back Borna Sosa could be in the starting eleven for the first time this season at VfB. Freiburg, too, is in full force, with the exception of striker Lucas Höler, who is still missing after a metatarsal fracture. After a 4-0 start to the season at FC Augsburg, the South Baden team lost 3-1 to runners-up Borussia Dortmund.
