Sandhausen (dpa / lsw) – The second division football team SV Sandhausen, threatened with relegation, has loaned midfielder Marcel Mehlem from league competitor SC Paderborn. The 27-year-old will come to the Hardtwald until the end of the season, said the twelfth-placed player on Tuesday.
“The loan from ‘Cello’ was short-term, so we decided to strengthen central midfield with him,” said Sandhausen’s sporting director Mikayil Kabaca. “In Marcel we have gained a player who knows the league and will not need any adjustment time.” Mehlem, who comes from the youth team at Karlsruher SC, is the fifth new signing from the Kurpfälzer in the winter break after Kerim Calhanoglu, Franck Evina, Raphael Framberger and Hamadi Al Ghaddioui.
