Sandhausen (dpa / lsw) – Second division soccer team SV Sandhausen is still looking for a striker. “It’s not that easy,” said coach Alois Schwartz two days before the home game on Friday against Fortuna Düsseldorf (6:30 p.m. / Sky). “We’re keeping our eyes and ears open and I wish we could get another attacker.”

With Ahmed Kutucu and Matej Pulkrab, there are currently only two strikers in the SVS squad. While Kutucu on loan scored thanks to his goal in the first round of the DFB Cup in the 4-0 win against BSV Rehden, his Czech team-mate is still waiting for a sense of achievement. A tendency for the starting formation could not be derived from this, said Schwartz. “Matej is a very hard-working player. But so is Ahmed. I’m spoiled for choice.”

The 55-year-old Schwartz has respect for the Düsseldorfers, who under coach Daniel Thioune only lost one of 16 competitive games across the season. “They are very well attuned and have a good mix in the team. I’m sure that Fortuna will play for the coveted promotion places until the end,” he said.

Arne Sicker, who is tenth in the table, will be absent with muscular problems and Benedikt Grawe (after an appendectomy). Cebio Soukou is an option again after recovering from knee problems.
