Mainhardt (dpa / lsw) – After finding a young person and a man with life-threatening injuries in Mainhardt (Schwäbisch Hall district), investigators arrested a suspect. The allegedly mentally ill 41-year-old came to a prison hospital, the police and prosecutors announced on Tuesday. A magistrate had issued a placement order for attempted manslaughter.
On Friday, passers-by found a 16-year-old and a 55-year-old with severe head injuries in parallel streets in Mainhardt. Both were operated on. The injured man was out of danger on Tuesday, the health of the young people was still critical.
The suspected German is said to have hit the two with a striking tool. A motive and whether he knew the victims is the subject of the investigation. The 40-strong investigative team tracked down the man because his relatives had called the police on Monday night. The man is said to have rioted in his apartment.
