Mannheim (dpa/lsw) – Despite the mixed first half of the season, SV Waldhof Mannheim is sticking to the goal of promotion to the 2nd Bundesliga and coach Christian Neidhart. The confirmed sports director Tim Schork of the “Rhein-Neckar-Zeitung” (Monday). “Now it’s time to tackle and recognize where we need to improve,” said Schork. “It’s about the willingness to always invest everything. If that works, we’ll play along at the top.”
After 17 games, the eighth-placed Mannheimers are five points behind the promotion relegation rank. According to Schork, the third division side are considering upgrading their squad and bringing in a new midfielder in January. After the long winter break, the season continues on January 14 with a home game against TSV 1860 Munich.
