Baiersdorf (dpa / lby) – When bathing in a quarry pond in Middle Franconia, a 74-year-old went under and later died. First responders brought the lifeless man to the surface of the water on Tuesday afternoon and then to the shore in Baiersdorf, police reported on Wednesday. He was then taken to the hospital, where he died shortly thereafter. The police ruled out third-party negligence.
