Monheim (dpa / lby) – An eleven-year-old boy was seriously injured in Monheim (Donau-Ries district) when crossing a street. A 28-year-old caught the student on Thursday as he drove his car past a stationary bus, police said on Friday. The 11-year-old was thrown through the air and hit his head on a curb. A rescue helicopter took him to the hospital. According to the police, he suffered a traumatic brain injury and a severe concussion.
The 28-year-old is now being investigated on suspicion of negligent bodily harm and non-compliance with the road traffic regulations. According to initial findings, he drove past the stopped bus too quickly.
