Tirschenreuth (dpa / lby) – Due to the severe weather conditions, mainly due to extreme slippery weather, face-to-face classes are canceled in many regions of Bavaria on Tuesday – especially in Lower Franconia, Middle Franconia and the Upper Palatinate. The regulation applies to the districts of Rhön-Grabfeld, Main-Spessart, Bad Kissingen and the district of Tirschenreuth, as the authorities announced in the morning.

In the district of Neustadt an der Aisch-Bad Windsheim, the school bus routes do not run in parts of the district. Affected are: Uffenheim and Lipprichhausen as well as Uehlfeld and the Steigerwald with Scheinfeld. For the students affected, there should be some distance teaching instead. According to the information, an accident-free way to school is also sometimes not possible in the district of Würzburg and the city of Würzburg. Children could therefore stay at home, it said. But there is emergency care.

The German Weather Service (DWD) had issued an official warning of ice for the northern part of Bavaria. In northern Franconia and the northern Upper Palatinate, the DWD expected a constant layer of ice on the roads until the morning. In some areas, rain could also lead to renewed ice formation, a spokesman said. As early as Monday, face-to-face classes in northern Bavaria were partially canceled due to the risk of ice.
