Munich/Berlin (dpa/lby) – Bavaria’s Transport Minister Christian Bernreiter (CSU) has welcomed the basic agreement between the federal and state governments on a new local transport ticket and the increase in regionalization funds. “It is a success for the federal states that the federal government has finally committed to additional regionalization funds and an adjustment to the dynamization,” said Bernreiter on Wednesday, adding, however: “But I can’t be completely satisfied.”
Instead of the 1.5 billion euros demanded by all state transport ministers, there is only one billion and no additional relief for the transport companies battered by the high energy and fuel prices. “More would have been better,” said Bernreiter. Prime Minister Markus Söder (CSU) had previously made a similar statement.
