Munich (dpa / lby) – A seven-year-old is said to have set toilet paper on fire in a primary school in Munich and caused a lot of damage. The school had to be evacuated. The boy said he lost a bet with a six-year-old, the police said on Wednesday. The wager was therefore to set fire to the school. According to initial estimates, there was damage of around 10,000 euros.
A teacher noticed the fire on Tuesday and set off the fire alarm. The school was then evacuated. Two caretakers went back into the building to make sure there were no more children in the toilet. They suffered mild smoke inhalation and were taken to a hospital for outpatient treatment. According to the police, the student later confided in his teacher. Both children are criminally responsible because they are under 14 years old. The police now want to talk to the boys and their parents.
