Aschaffenburg (dpa / lby) – About a year after the violent death of a 47-year-old woman in Laufach, Lower Franconia, the investigators have convicted her father as the perpetrator. The 83-year-old shot himself after the crime, the public prosecutor’s office in Aschaffenburg and the police headquarters in Lower Franconia announced on Tuesday.

The two dead were found in mid-October 2021 in an apartment in Laufach (Aschaffenburg district). The woman died from head injuries and her father from gunshot wounds. The police had temporarily arrested the woman’s partner as a suspect. “An initial suspicion against a man could finally be assessed as unfounded,” said the public prosecutor’s office and police headquarters.

The investigations of the criminal police and a report by the Bavarian State Criminal Police Office now confirm that “the 83-year-old is also responsible for the death of the 47-year-old”. The 83-year-old then shot himself.
