Hirschbach (dpa / lby) – The mountain rescue service rescued a 29-year-old from the Bismarck grotto in the Upper Palatinate at the weekend. The man injured his ankle while climbing in the cave near Hirschbach (Amberg-Sulzbach district), police said on Monday.
The climber had been traveling with a 30-year-old companion during the night from Saturday to Sunday. After his partner was injured, he climbed out of the cave alone to get help. The rescue service took the 29-year-old to a hospital after the rescue.
