Kitzingen/Würzburg (dpa/lby) – More than six months after the violent death of a refugee in an asylum seeker’s accommodation in Lower Franconia, the Würzburg public prosecutor’s office has brought charges of murder against a 38-year-old roommate. A date for the main hearing has not yet been determined, the public prosecutor announced on Thursday.
The man is said to have killed the 27-year-old victim in mid-December 2021 in the accommodation in Kitzingen. After the crime, the suspect drove to Kiel in Schleswig-Holstein and turned himself in to the federal police.
According to the public prosecutor’s office, the motive is initially unclear. A psychiatric expert report is expected in August. The “Main-Post” previously reported on the indictment.
