Munich (dpa / lby) – For the first time after several difficult years, politicians are to be derbleckt live at the strong beer tapping on the Nockherberg. After two cancellations and a digital Lenten speech, the customs spectacle is to take place again in the usual form in 2023 according to the old tradition – with guests in the audience and a singspiel.
The date is March 3rd, the Paulaner brewery announced on Thursday. The date, one and a half weeks after Ash Wednesday, is due to a game played by FC Bayern, a long-standing partner of the Paulaner brewery. On the originally planned date of March 8, the club will play their Champions League round of 16 second leg against Paris St. Germain in the Allianz Arena.
In previous years, because of Corona, the strong beer tapping had not taken place or not live and not to the full extent; last year it was canceled because of the Ukraine war.
“We are really looking forward to March. Because then one of the most traditional events in our hometown of Munich will take place again in the usual form,” said Paulaner Managing Director Andreas Steinfatt. “Last year we wanted to celebrate a comeback with guests and singspiel on the Nockherberg, in 2023 it’s finally that time again.”
Maximilian Schafroth once again gives the Lenten sermon. Stefan Betz and Richard Oehmann will be responsible for writing and directing the Singspiel.
Traditionally, some of the parodied sit in the audience themselves and have to endure the ridicule immediately – or laugh at themselves.
