Investigators search several apartments on suspicion of possession and distribution of child pornography. Mobile phones, hard drives and computer systems are seized.
Munich (dpa / lby) – The police searched 16 apartments in and around Munich on suspicion of possession and distribution of child pornography. Around 80 police forces had examined the apartments in the early morning of February 8 on a court order, the police said on Friday. Among other things, in the districts of Neuhausen, Schwabing, Ramersdorf, Thalkirchen, Trudering, Pasing, Bogenhausen and Ludwigsvorstadt as well as three apartments in the district of Munich.
According to the police, 21 male suspects between the ages of 16 and 74 are strongly suspected of not only possessing child pornographic content, but also of having distributed some of it. DNA samples were taken from nine suspects. All suspects were released after the police measures and the filing of complaints. According to the current status of the investigation, there are no links between the suspects. About 50 mobile phones, more than 30 computer systems and over 100 electronic storage media were seized.
Commissariat 17, which is responsible for sexualized violence against children and child and youth pornography, continued the investigation. The searches took place under the direction of the Munich I public prosecutor and the Center for Combating Child Pornography and Sexual Abuse on the Internet, as the statement said.
