Munich (dpa / lby) – Eva Wagner-Pasquier was released from the hospital a year after her accident on the Isar in Munich. “Now I’m fighting my way back into life,” said the great-granddaughter of the composer Richard Wagner (1813-1883) of the “Bild” newspaper (Tuesday). “It’s a long way and I have to take care of myself. But I’m doing quite well.” Wagner-Pasquier directed the Bayreuth Festival from 2008 to 2015 together with her younger half-sister Katharina Wagner.

The fire brigade rescued Wagner-Pasquier from the Isar last August. An ambulance had to revive her. “I have no idea what happened that day. I can’t remember.” After the incident, she was in the hospital for a long time, the newspaper reported. “I had many guardian angels for a year,” said the 77-year-old. “I’m still in the process of recovery, but I’m fine so far.”
