Munich (dpa / lby) – Stolen Christmas decorations, fake passports, drunk driving: In concerted police checks, investigators found a good 780 violations in two weeks. The officials checked around 8,000 people and 5,800 vehicles during the campaign, the Interior Ministry said on Sunday. Seven people were arrested.
The violations are about theft, forgery and driving without a license or under the influence of alcohol. According to the ministry, a vehicle with stolen Christmas decorations and clothing worth 12,000 euros was seized in the Upper Palatinate. In Munich, a driver was caught with several forged documents.
In the cross-state controls, the Bavarian officials worked together with the police in Baden-Württemberg, Hesse, Rhineland-Palatinate and Saxony. The campaign ran from October 26th to November 9th. A total of 1,700 police officers were deployed in Bavaria.
