Neuburg an der Donau (dpa/lby) – A large amount of liquid glass escaped on Tuesday in a plant in Neuburg an der Donau in Upper Bavaria (Neuburg-Schrobenhausen district). According to the police, a glass pan broke in the hall of a glass processing company for an initially unknown reason. A 61-year-old worker was taken to the hospital with carbon monoxide poisoning.
On Tuesday, numerous emergency services from the fire brigade, the rescue service, the technical relief organization and the police were on site. A police spokesman said in the afternoon that the operation would probably last several hours. The liquid glass has to be cooled down and solidified in order to be able to drain off in a controlled manner. There is no danger to the population. The police were initially unable to provide information on the extent of the damage.
