Düsseldorf (dpa/lby) – The three-time double Olympic champion Natalie Geisenberger wants to decide whether to continue her career in luge after the birth of her second child at the beginning of next year. “I want to think about what’s going to happen after the birth. Do I still feel like it? Can I get the motivation again? Do I want my family, who supported me so much on my first comeback, to have to do so much again”? “What goals would I set myself then?” Said the 34-year-old to the “Donaukurier”.
One thing is clear: she doesn’t like tobogganing behind the competition. “If I try to make a comeback again, I want to sled at almost the level I was at,” said the Munich native, who after the birth of her son Leo in May 2020 after a year’s break celebrated her comeback with the Olympic victory in Beijing graduation. “For me and for our family project, we can look back very, very proud. And that was the goal. It worked out for everyone, we organized everything very well,” said Geisenberger in retrospect.
