Hallbergmoos (dpa / lby) – According to the police, a 24-year-old woman in the Upper Bavarian district of Freising was injured in an allegedly violent attack by her partner. The suspect, the same age, was arrested and taken into custody on suspicion of attempted manslaughter, officials reported on Wednesday.

Residents had alerted the police on Tuesday morning because of a loud argument in Hallbergmoos. When the patrol arrived, officers found a violent altercation between the separated couple.

According to the police, the man is said to have visited his partner and, after a short conversation, choked her with his hands and a cable. He also reportedly hit her several times in the face and threatened her with a knife. The woman was able to tear herself away and take her to a neighbor for safety. Paramedics treated her at the scene and took her to a hospital. The police arrested the man at the scene.
