Regensburg (dpa/lby) – The state forests want to have thirty to forty new wind turbines built in the forests of the Upper Bavarian district of Altötting. The plants are intended to supply electricity to the chemical triangle near Burghausen. The company announced this at the start of the selection process on Wednesday in Regensburg. Areas in the Burghauser and Altöttinger forests are to be offered as locations.

By the beginning of June there should be a “site security agreement” for both areas, on the basis of which the investors could then start planning.

According to state forests, there are currently 101 wind turbines (WTG) at 18 locations in Bavaria’s state forests. A further 84 wind turbines are already being planned, and the systems in the district of Altötting would then be added.
