Munich (dpa / lby) – After a knife attack on a police officer in Nuremberg, a 61-year-old is being investigated on suspicion of attempted killing. The police were alerted because the man is said to have rammed his knife into a car tire on Tuesday morning. When trying to arrest him, the 61-year-old stabbed the police officer, said the police headquarters in Central Franconia in Nuremberg. Despite the attack, the 37-year-old officer remained unharmed thanks to his protective vest. The 61-year-old was initially able to escape, but was then arrested.
The public prosecutor’s office in Nuremberg-Fürth applied for an arrest warrant against him. According to the information, the background to the crime is still completely unclear, the homicide department of the criminal police is investigating.
