Würzburg (dpa / lby) – The highway police pulled a yacht out of traffic on the A3 near Würzburg. A motorist had pulled the 3.5-tonne boat behind him on a lightweight trailer that has no brakes and is actually only intended for launching boats in the harbor. “The towing vehicle was a 3-series BMW convertible, which according to the vehicle registration certificate was only allowed to tow 600 kg,” the police said on Friday. In fact, “a truck with a low-loader is necessary for this weight”.
The 70-year-old driver was on the way from Belgium to Hungary with the team. He now expects ads for overloading, driving without registration and without insurance and license plate misuse. Because the trailer had a Belgian license plate that was registered to another car.
