Bamberg (dpa / lby) – Unknown persons have stolen a priest’s robe and a monstrance from a former monastery in Bamberg. The police announced on Tuesday. The partly gilded host monstrance is 75 centimeters high and around 32 centimeters wide, as it was called. A consecrated host is presented in a monstrance. Overall, the items stolen from a wooden cupboard would have a value of around 15,000 euros. The theft was noticed on Sunday, but the exact time of the crime is still unknown. Now the Bavarian State Criminal Police Office is investigating.
