Nuremberg (dpa/lby) – The “Rock im Park” festival in Nuremberg comes to an end on Sunday with performances by bands such as Muse, Sportfreunde Stiller, Placebo and Deftones. Around 75,000 fans celebrated together in front of the stages for the first time after a two-year Corona break. Together with the twin festival “Rock am Ring” in the Eifel, it was one of the first major festivals to be held again after the outbreak of the pandemic.
The emergency services have so far drawn a positive interim balance: Compared to 2019 – the last time “Rock im Park” – they had to take care of fewer people or transport them to the hospital. According to the medical services, the revelers were simply more careful this year in order to be able to enjoy the festival to the fullest.
Many of the music fans initially spoke of an unreal feeling to meet so many people again after such a long time. After the last performances, the celebrations on the campsites continued well into the night.
