Fürth (dpa/lby) – In Bavaria, 4.6 percent fewer building permits for apartments were issued last year than in the previous year. As the State Statistics Office announced on Wednesday, the number of building permits fell to 76,633. A slump in permits for owner-occupied homes compared to an increase in multi-story apartment buildings can be observed.
Home builders, construction companies and investors are suffering from delivery bottlenecks and sharply increased costs for building materials, general inflation and rising interest rates. Many projects have been put on hold because they can no longer be managed. In the case of one- and two-family houses, the housing approvals in Bavaria fell by 18.7 percent to 25,182. In the rural districts, the number of building permits fell more sharply than in the independent towns and cities. In contrast, building permits for apartment buildings rose by 9 percent to 38,539.
