Nuremberg (dpa / lby) – As expected, Bavaria’s Prime Minister and CSU party leader Markus Söder has been nominated by his Nuremberg-East constituency as a candidate for next year’s state elections. The CSU announced that Söder received 100 percent of the votes. Bavaria will elect a new state parliament in autumn 2023. In 2018, Söder won the direct mandate in the constituency with 38.1 percent. He was slightly better than his party, which had achieved 37.2 percent nationwide and 35.7 percent of the vote in the constituency.
