Munich (dpa / lby) – The Verdi union wants to expand the warning strikes in Bavaria. The deputy head of the regional district, Sinan Öztürk, said on Tuesday that they would “up the ante by the next round of negotiations”. There will be “clearly noticeable” work stoppages throughout Bavaria.

In the Free State, daycare centers, city administrations, waterway and shipping offices, but also clinics and other companies and departments are said to be affected. Where specifically the work is laid down is decided locally, so that there may be differences depending on the region.

In the collective bargaining dispute, Verdi and the civil servants’ association dbb are demanding 10.5 percent more income, but at least 500 euros more per month. The employer side rejected the demands as “unaffordable”. The next round of negotiations is scheduled for March 27th.
