Ingolstadt (dpa / lby) – The ERC Ingolstadt from the German Ice Hockey League (DEL) has a new coach. As the Upper Bavarians announced on Tuesday, Canadian Mark French will take over from the coming season. Accordingly, the 51-year-old signed a one-year contract. “Mark is a very detail-oriented and hard-working coach who is excellent at communicating his ideas and ideas,” said ERC sports director Tim Regan, explaining the new signing.
French, who finished second last season as an assistant coach at Metallurg Magnitogorsk in the Russian Kontinental Hockey League, succeeds Doug Shedden. The Ingolstadt team parted ways with the Canadian at the end of April after the club had already been eliminated in the first playoff round. “For me, the ERC was the best option,” said French.
