Nuremberg (dpa / lby) – Markus Weinzierl gets a new assistant coach at 1. FC Nuremberg. As the Franconian second division soccer team announced on Wednesday, Tobias Zellner is joining the coaching team. Weinzierl has already worked with the 45-year-old at FC Augsburg. The previous assistant coach Ersan Parlatan, who switched to the “club” just a few weeks ago as the successor to Tobias Schweinsteiger, is already leaving the club again. The 45-year-old will be the new coach at fourth division club Offenbacher Kickers.

“We hired Ersan, who has done a good job at the club in just a few weeks, for the vacant assistant coach position at the request of Robert Klauß. Now there is a new opportunity for him, which he wanted to accept for understandable reasons. With Tobias we are bringing an experienced, competent assistant to Markus Weinzierl’s side,” explained Sport Director Dieter Hecking.
