Gonçalo Paciência is leaving the Bundesliga soccer club Eintracht Frankfurt and moving to the Spanish first division club Celta Vigo. The 28-year-old Portuguese came to Hessen from FC Porto in 2018 for three million euros, for whom he scored 20 goals in 85 games. The contract of the striker, who played on loan for Schalke 04 in the 2020/21 season, was valid until the summer of 2023. The club did not provide any information on Saturday about the fee.

“Gonçalo Paciência has always put himself at the service of the team and also scored important goals as a joker. He would like to play more often in the future, which we cannot guarantee him,” said Frankfurt’s sporting director Markus Krösche, explaining the transfer. The Portuguese international will “be remembered as a great team player”.
