Despite having implemented a number of the strictest measures in the state to fight the coronavirus, California keeps the maximum number of instances.
The condition is averaging 42,000 fresh virus instances per day and listed 3,500 virus deaths in the past week .
Today, health experts are questioning if the outside dining ban really contributed to — instead of mitigated — the nation’s spike in COVID-19 cases.
“I’d say outside dining surely did not help and probably hindered efforts to avert a surge,” Dr. Monica Gandhi, an infectious disease specialist at UCSF advised SFGate.
Gandhi claimed that the constraints imposed from the Newsom administration failed to comprehend human beings’ need to be together with different men and women.
She pointed out that many Californians, with no choice to dine outside over the vacations, turned into riskier at-home parties in defiance of the governor’s orders.
“Obviously, not everybody stuck to their own masks and distancing strategies when they moved indoors,” Gandhi said. “You clearly need to take off your mask to consume, and the virus spreads far more easily inside.”
Dr. Brad Pollock, associate dean for public health sciences in the UC Davis School of Medicine, similarly questioned the efficacy of Newsom’s stay-at-home sequence in controlling the outbreak.
“I would not say the stay-at-home orders were useless, but they likely have not had a massive effect on what has really occurred with the transmission routines “
Last week, Newsom raised the stay-at-home sequence from the 13-county Sacramento area as hospital conditions enhanced. Manager Mike Ziegenmeyer of Sutter County at the Sacramento area known as the order being raised”exciting” but in precisely the exact same time asked:”Who adheres to it”
